Chocolate Chip Cookies (or Butterscotch Chip)

1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening (cream with sugar)
4 eggs
4 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups nuts and pakg of chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Drop onto oiled cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees (do not overbake.)

*Notes: Vary with butterscotch or 1/2 package of both. This makes a double batch--too many little hands around.
